Beautiful Ostara

It’s that time again when soon the peepers will begin singing their evening time songs, and we will be able to feel life being breathed back into the forest after its long sleep. Ostara is a magical time. A time of renewal and hope. I often feel this surge of creativity during equinoxes and changing of cycles. I like to find ways of expressing that so I made this silver bracelet with blue aventurine (pictured above) in honor of the Spring. In the photo it is sitting on a thorny rose bush. Behind it you can see snow falling. We got pelted with snow today and it looks like “Narnia” outside. The blue made me think of snow that is destined to melt into the water and become streams and puddles in the forests; the same puddles I’ll see the moon’s reflection in when I go dancing in the forest.

I have discovered that the most powerful way to charge a crystal is by leaving it outdoors in the forest. Alternatively, you can wash them under water, smudge them, or even place them by selenite. There’s something extraordinarily healing and rejuvenating about the forest. In Summer I will even leave my drinking water out in the forest overnight and call it my “forest water”. Considering my bracelets are made with crystals, I’ll likely begin charging them out there too.
