Horses & Fairy Locks

Pictured above is my knowledgable horse friend Marta. I met Marta when I had recently finished massage school and she was selling essential oils through a company called: Young Living. She’s a Young Living Brand Partner and a Healing Touch for Animals Practitioner. I had the pleasure of reconnecting with her recently when I unexpectedly began getting a lot of horse themed videos recommended to me. There was one in particular that tugged at my heartstrings. It was a brief video about “fairy braids” or “fairy locks”, which are braids supposedly woven by fairies in horses hair overnight, and found by their owners when they go to check on them in the morning.

For many years I’ve been aware of the legends surrounding “fairy braids”, and yet I did not become aware of the deeper meaning behind this phenomenon until several weeks ago when I saw a video by Inner Harp Productions featuring a man named Sean Kilkenny. Apparently, these knots or braids are used by the fairies as enchanted reigns and stirrups, so that they may use these horses to transport hurt children out of darkness and back home to God. He explains that the world has been dark for a long time, and is run by individuals who harm children. We unfortunately see evidence of this in what is being revealed to us in the: “Epstein Files”. And yet, no matter how bad it gets, even through the darkest hours of human history, how sweet and comforting it is to know that there are still healers and bearers of light amongst us.

The video touched me so I ended up sending it to Marta. She must have sensed that I may have needed something (I wasn’t even aware of at the time), because she suggested perhaps I come over to receive some “horse healing energy”, which at this point was hard to deny. I began feeling intensely & inexplicably drawn to horses, and the feeling was rapidly growing. I was seeing them everywhere I went. I even got stuck behind a horse trailer one day while all of this was going on, and I took a picture because it seemed like a funny coincidence.

A week or so later Marta and I made plans to get together. Upon arriving to her place she assessed whether or not my chakra centers were active with a pendulum (A brief history on the pendulum: pendulums were originally used for dowsing: locating water, minerals, treasures and/or lost objects. But have also been used in spiritual practices to assess the health of chakras, amongst other things). Chakra activity can change from moment to moment, and at that moment mine were not active, which wasn’t too surprising. I told her I did not sleep well the night before.

So Marta brought out her gentlest horse, Maggie. ”Let’s try something” she says, “Let’s experiment and see if she can get your chakras moving.” Marta had me place one hand on Maggie’s chest and another at the base of her mane. I asked Maggie “Will you activate my chakra centers, please? Especially the root chakra?” Almost immediately I felt a vibrating sensation starting at the base of my spine. Soon it grew into my whole body. I thanked Maggie for her time and her healing touch. Marta rechecked my chakras with the pendulum, and they were spinning again.

After Marta walked Maggie back into her paddock, we sat down on some chairs outdoors and talked for a bit. I asked her how she initially became interested in horses, and it was wonderful to hear her say that she too felt inexplicably drawn to them and was seeing them simply everywhere. It made me feel like perhaps some people get called to them for reasons beyond our knowing. I began to tell her about my very real encounters with fairy, and my desire to reawaken a sense of childlike wonderment in both my own life and within the lives of others. This peaked her interest. She said “I have something I think you might enjoy” and she presented me with an essential oil by Young Living called “Inner Child”. Before parting, Marta also sent me home with a wonderful book recommendation: “The Secret Language of your Body”, by Inna Segal.

I noticed every time I smelled the bottle of “Inner Child” essential oil, my body would begin to vibrate again. That night, I decided to burn 3 drops in my diffuser. I actually made a vow to myself that I would try to burn some every night. Not only did it energetically charge me, but it also seemed to be charging my crystals in the room. I picked my crystals up and they were vibrating again. I hadn’t charged them in awhile.

On my second night of burning it, something “magical” transpired. I was sitting down when suddenly I heard a “flap, flap, flap!” against the window. There was a “Cecropia Moth” (a rare moth, and one of the largest in North America) flapping its wings against the screen as though it were trying to get in. My mind immediately went to the fairies. The next day I told Marta about what happened and in turn she sent some information about the symbolism of butterflies & moths. The information she sent was taken from a book called “Animal Speak” by Ted Andrew, which stated that many fairies and spirits of the air come to humans in the form of birds, butterflies, and other winged creatures. They typically represent; metamorphosis. The book went on to say: “Feathers are direct links to these spirits of the air”. “Oh what a wonderful idea”, I thought. “I’d like to collect a feather from nature the next time I come across one”.

Although for some reason while I was reading all about feathers, I began to instead have a very clear vision of finding butterfly wings on the ground. “That would never happen” I laughed to myself “I rarely even find feathers out in nature nevertheless butterfly wings.” I went to bed that night and eventually woke up to take my usual morning walk. As I started walking, I had not gone more than 15 or so ft from the house when I looked down and spotted something unusual on the ground: a single wing with morning dew on it.

It seemed impossible and absolutely extraordinary that I had found my wing that I had “imagined” the day before. I looked it up, and the wing belongs to another large species of moth. It’s the hind wing of a “Polyphemus Moth”. It now sits in an insect display box with plenty of space for any other feathers or wings that may come my way.

Thank you Marta & Maggie. From energy healing, to essential oils, and messages from nature, what a blessing this has been. I have noticed over the last week that it’s much easier for me to activate my chakras. I’ve been routinely checking them with my pendulum. The vibrations that they generate come to me easier. I believe Maggie may have done more than just activate my chakras. I believe she may have cleared a blockage. The draw I feel towards horses is still there but is now coupled with a reignited passion towards utilizing and exploring essential oils, and a solidified belief that these beings are indeed bearers of light who spiritually call us in.
